We’ve just been notified that one of the portraits from the 2008 ARL calendar has been selected for a prize at the Dog-gone Art Show, going on now at the Lighthouse Art Center. Sami Clark, a beautiful Springer Spaniel, was the subject of our portrait “Lady in Waiting.” You can see this and other local artists’ dog-themed art during the Opening Reception this Thursday, August 19, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the center, 373 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta (746-3101) www.lighthousearts.org  See you there! no comments We joined up with our favorite Golden-Doodle, Bob, to support Cystic Fibrosis research this morning. Mindy from Glamour Paws Salon in Tequesta was there, too, as hundreds of walkers, both two- and four-legged, walked 3 miles from Carlin Park in Jupiter. Jupiter Police K-9 Unit brought out their K-9 Officers to demo what happens when you get on a good dog’s bad side. It’s a dog’s life!                 no comments We’ve joined Bob the goldendoodle’s team for the Great Strides Walk to benefit Cystic Fibrosis research, Saturday, April 17th, 8 a.m. at Carlin Park. And you guessed it — this one is DOG FRIENDLY! So bring a four-legged friend. There will be special treats for everyone following the 3 mile walk along the beach road, plus food, music and more.
